Gerhard has been the Lab Administrator in the Science student computing labs since 2008. He established a lab booking system, which allows lecturers to book the labs six months in advance so that there are no disappointments.

Gerhard ensures that all the PCs are operational and that the labs are ready for booked teaching sessions. He also ensures that the labs are always clean and that students obey the rules that are displayed in all the labs.

Gerhard says in most cases Science students are pretty clued up when it comes to IT so they rarely ask for help.  The first year students do, however, require some assistance when they first start using the lab.
