Introduction

Third parties are individuals who are neither staff nor student, yet need to use UCT resources while they are undertaking official business at UCT. (See examples of third parties.)

UCT uses the Third Party System to manage the access rights of these individuals. The system provides authorised staff members with an efficient, secure and accurate method of recording third party details – along with their access requirements. This information is fed to UCT’s central Identity Vault and then disseminated to the university’s Access Control, Traffic Control and other relevant systems.

Once the process is complete, the third party is given access to the relevant resources – as outlined in the UCT Role Model for third parties.
