Use either Exchange Mail or IMAP / POP settings to set up email on your Apple device.
Exchange Mail (Preferred)

- Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Add Account.
- On the Add Account screen, tap Microsoft Exchange.
- Fill in the Exchange fields as follows and then tap Next:
- Email: studentnumber@myuct.ac.za
- Domain: leave blank.
- Username: enter studentnumber@myuct.ac.za
- Password: your network password.
- Your iPhone/iPad will try to automatically set up your email account.
- If the setup is successfully completed, proceed to step 6.
- If your email account is not automatically configured then enter m.outlook.com in the Server field and tap Next.
- In the Exchange window, choose the information you want to synchronise between your account and your device. By default, Mail, Contacts and Calendar information are synchronised.
- Tap Save to complete the setup.
IMAP or POP
- Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Add Account.
- On the Add Account screen tap Other.
- In the New Account fields, enter:
- Name: your full name.
- Password: your network password.
- Address: enter studentnumber@myuct.ac.za
- Tap Save.
- Tap either IMAP or POP (we recommend you select IMAP because it supports more features).
- In the Incoming Mail Server fields, enter:
- Host Name: outlook.office365.com
- Password: your network password.
- Username: enter studentnumber@myuct.ac.za
- In the Outgoing Mail Server fields, enter:
- Username: enter studentnumber@myuct.ac.za
- Password: your network password.
- In the Incoming Mail Server fields, enter:
- Tap Save to complete the setup.
