ICTS is enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) to boost the security of UCT accounts and online services. This extra layer of protection has already been implemented for staff, alumni, and postgraduate students, and will be implemented for undergraduates from June 2022.
When will my account be enabled?
We will roll out MFA in a phased approach, communicating to specific groups of undergraduates prior to their enablement date. To get an idea of when your turn will arrive, please check the schedule below:
What do I need to do?
- Please ensure that you have:your own mobile phone number and your own mobile phone (preferably a smartphone, but a feature phone that can receive SMSes is also acceptable). If you do not have either of these, please make arrangements to acquire them as soon as possible.
- When you receive an email from ICTS notifying you of your enablement date, please follow the step-by-step instructions on what you need to do.
