| Manage your account by changing your temporary password (third parties). | |
| Several services you will use are secured by Multi-factor authentication (MFA). Once you have changed your password, you will need to set up set up your MFA. | |
| Download UCT Mobile, the university's all-in-one-mobile app for your phone. |
When you get to campus:
| Connect to eduroam (the wireless network) either automatically (with the CAT tool) or manually. | |
| Connect your device(s) to the internet. | |
| Access your email (available on request for contract staff*). | |
| If you have ICT problems or need advice, visit the Front Office or email the IT Helpdesk at icts-helpdesk@uct.ac.za. | |

Protect yourself online:
| Ensure you have a reputable antivirus program installed on your computer. | |
| Always be on the lookout for suspicious emails and links. | |
| Report any cybersecurity incidents to the CSIRT (UCT's Computer Security Incident Response Team). | |
