Lee-Ann Smith, Lab Administrator for Student Housing and Residence Life labs, has the important job of ensuring that all the PCs in the residence student computing labs are working and that there is assistance available to students during opening hours.
Lee-Ann manages 29 other lab assistants who are available to assist students at each lab. These lab assistants are IT-savvy students who assist at the various labs throughout the academic year. This gives Lee-Ann time to handle the administrative tasks such as lab bookings for the Baxter Lab. This specific lab is open to all UCT staff and students and may be used for teaching purposes or to conduct competency-based testing.
