When displaying your video on Microsoft Teams, you can select to either blur your background, use one of the background templates or apply your own. The background image that you select will remain in place until you reset it.

UCT has a standard background image that you can use when displaying your video. Click the image below and save it to use in your next Microsoft Teams video call.

Change your background image before a meeting

You can change your background image just before you join a meeting. If you would like to use your own image, the recommended dimensions are:1920 x 1080 and it should be about 3MB in file size.

  1. Open the meeting request and click Join. On the meeting controls click Background effects, which is located next to the mic switch. If this option is not available, click More options ˙˙˙ > Background effects. Either select Blur for a blurred background, one of the available images or click Add new to use your own background.
  2. Click Apply or Apply and turn on video if your camera is off.

Change your background during a meeting

If your meeting has already started and you are requested to turn on your camera, you can still change your background image via the meeting controls. If the Background effects options is not visible click More options ˙˙˙ > Background effects. Either select Blur for a blurred background, one of the available images or scroll down to select your preferred image.

You will be able to preview your background before you apply it.
