UCT streamlines network printing with Managed Print Services (MPS). MPS offers staff and students numerous Xerox devices across campus and provides a comprehensive printing solution that includes copying, scanning, bulk printing, secure printing, and print service and support. MPS has several benefits, such as standardised devices and processes, a cost-effective pricing model with usage-based billing, comprehensive maintenance, and easily accessible on-campus support provided by Altron Document Solutions. While iPrint will remain available for a limited time, it will be decommissioned as part of the transition to MPS.
What you need to know about MPS
- MPS allows you to submit print jobs online for pick-up at designated locations across campus. This eliminates the need for immediate printer access.
- Departments using MPS benefit from automatic cost billing and regular paper/consumable replenishment, simplifying printing management.
- Staff members can print from any MPS device on campus and have the cost automatically billed to their cost centre.
- MPS offers a convenient remote job submission and delivery service: you can submit your print job online, which will be printed and delivered to your door.
Please refer to the MPS page for more information on how to use the printers and load credits.
