After conducting extensive testing and working with a group of pilot users, ICTS released Windows 7 to campus on 1 October 2010. Service Pack 1 has now been released.
ICTS has successfully completed the testing of Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7. SP1 contains previously released security, performance and stability updates for Windows 7 as well as performance enhancements and operating system improvements.
ICTS staff tested SP1 and found that it does not impact on any of the core applications or services in use at UCT. All new desktop and laptop computers purchased via ICTS are preloaded with Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit SP1.
