The standard installation and configuration for a UCT owned machine is geared towards improved security and ease of maintenance. Unless custom-built for a specific purpose, UCT machines are configured as follows:
The computer is named according to the UCT standard
The computer name is generated using unique identifiers. This assists in identifying the computer in the Windows Server Update Service (WSUS), Trellix EPO, ZENworks and other software management and deployment tools.
Standard Operating Sytem installed
This includes either:
- Windows 10 – with Extended Security Updates (ESU) * only applicable to machines that are not eligible for upgrade to Windows 11.
- Windows 11 24H2
Standard software is installed
This includes:
