Microsoft is continuing to address the ongoing issue impacting the Microsoft 365 suite. This is caused by damage to the West Africa fibre cables, which manage requests in and out of Africa.
Microsoft has since rerouted traffic to minimise the impact on its South African customers. Outlook and Microsoft Teams are operating as normal for now.
The backlog on UCT’s email server was cleared earlier this morning. Please check your Outlook Outbox to ensure that all emails you sent yesterday have since been cleared. If there are unsent items in your Outbox, please restart Outlook.
We will provide further information once we hear more from Microsoft. We thank you for your patience while Microsoft addresses this issue.
