Problem affecting WiFi on campus
First notice: 12.43 p.m. on Wednesday 2nd August 2023
We are aware of an issue currently affecting the eduroam wireless service on all UCT campuses. You may experience intermittent slowness and occasional connection drops.
Our team is actively investigating the problem and working with the vendor to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Second notice: 4.57 p.m. on Wednesday 2nd August 2023
As part of our efforts to remedy the problem currently affecting wireless on campus, ICTS conducted emergency maintenance on UCT's wireless controllers between 9:30 p.m. on 2nd August 2023 and 1:30 a.m. on 3rd August 2023.
As a result, the wireless service was intermittent during this period.
Third notice: 11.13 a.m. on Thursday 17th August 2023
As part of our efforts to remedy the problem currently affecting wireless on campus, ICTS will conduct emergency maintenance on UCT's wireless controllers to implement a vendor-recommended change at 9:00 p.m. on 17th August 2023. As a result, the wireless service will be unavailable for around 20 minutes. It should be restored by 9:20 p.m. on the night. We thank you for your understanding while we conduct this important emergency maintenance.
