Ready. Steady. Become the next MOS World Champion

 

Have you ever dreamt of becoming a world champion, but you’re not good at sports? Well, now is your chance. Thanks to Microsoft’s partner, Certiport, you can become a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and stand a chance of representing South Africa at the upcoming MOS World Championship in Orlando, Florida (USA). You can also win some really cool prizes – with the winner receiving US $7000, and second and third place receiving $3500 and $1500 respectively.

Requirements to qualify for MOS Championship

Entry is limited to youth within the 13 – 22 age group (as of 15^th June 2018). Read the official competition rules (upload PDF and insert link) for full details of who is eligible.

The other important requirement is that you must have completed a MOS exam in one of the following courses by 15 June 2018:

• Microsoft Word (2013 or 2016)
• Excel (2013 or 2016)
• PowerPoint (2013 or 2016)

If you haven’t completed an exam yet, but would like to, follow the steps for each topic outlined in the table below.

Once you have completed the course work, and are ready to take the exam, contact ICTS Training (icts-training@uct.ac.za) to book your certification exam.

It is worthwhile nothing that while you can access the extensive lynda.com and Microsoft Imagine Academy self-learning resources for free, you will need to pay the exam fee. Each exam could cost up to R400, but if we get many entrants from UCT, the rate could come down to about R150 per exam. To help us gauge the interest from students, please let us know how much you are willing to pay to write your certification exam.

Once you make your exam booking, ICTS training will send you the payment information.
