With a never-ending to-do list, finding time to learn a new skill can be quite daunting. That’s why online learning resources are key: they allow you to learn when you want to.

As a member of the UCT community, you have access to several online training options which can help you get your skills on trend for now and into the future.

Find an online resource that meets your needs

Subscription-based

  • LinkedIn Learning: Rated as one of the world’s highly acclaimed online learning resources, you get access to thousands of courses presented by industry experts. You decide when and what you want to learn, and for how long. You can either complete a course, for which you’ll receive a certification of completion, or learn something specific to what you’re doing.
  • SUSE Academic Programme: Open source software usage is becoming popular globally. Ensure you’re in the know of open source technologies by sprucing up your skills, and access training material, virtual labs, and forums dedicated to Linux, storage, cloud, and much more.
  • Gartner: Follow the latest trends in business and the IT sector through research conducted by one of the world’s leading research and advisory companies – Gartner.

  • Adobe TV: If you’re a new or existing Adobe products user, this resource will guide you all the way from getting started to mastering your Acrobat, InDesign, or Photoshop skills. 
  • Coursera: Always wanted to study at Duke University or Stanford University? You can, from the comfort of your own home. This resource offers online courses, certifications, and degrees from nearly 200 learning institutions locally and abroad.
  • Khan Academy: Its goal is to provide free education to everyone – no matter where they are. Courses include mathematics, science and engineering, arts and humanities, computing, and economics and finance.

The tools are in your hands. Use them to advance your skills and knowledge in today’s ever-changing technology environment.
