The latest version of OS X, 10.11 El Capitan brings enhancements in existing products (Mission Control, Spotlight, Photos, Safari, Maps) and a new feature called Split View has been added.
Hardware performance has also been increased with the introduction of Metal, a new graphics core technology. These improvements promises to increase application launch times 1.4 times, application switching by two times, and opening of PDF documents by four times.
