Research data storage

The Research Data Store (RDS) is UCT’s on-site data storage solution. It is a secure, scalable, reliable and resilient storage facility which is accessed with a network drive across UCT or remotely via VPN. RDS costs are comparable to cloud services like AWS but with the bonus of being on-site. Costs are around R920 p/TB p/month (with a decreased rate of R240 p/TB p/month for 2025).
