1. Make backups: A backup is a copy of the data on your machine that you make on another storage medium, such as a flash drive, CD, DVD or external hard drive.   1. If you receive a request from a company asking you to provide them with your bank account number and PIN, or your network username and password, just ignore it or delete it. It is a phishing attempt. No legitimate company will ever ask you for this; especially not via email, web page or a phone call.
  1. Create strong passwords that include a mixture of upper and lower case letters, numbers and punctuation marks. By activating your profile on Password Self-Service you'll be able to reset your password yourself, whenever you need to.
